The Devil Dawg Tech Story: Why We Started & Where We're Going ππ¦Ί
By Bryan Jefferson, Founder of Devil Dawg Tech
Hey everyone! π
My name is Bryan Jefferson, and if you've seen our posts floating around on Facebook, X, or any of our other platforms β first of all, thank you for being here. Today, I want to get real with you and share the story behind Devil Dawg Tech. No fluff. No highlight reel. Just the truth.
Watch Our Story
How It All Started πΉοΈ
About nine months ago, I found myself in a place I never expected to be.
At 52 years old, I was recovering from major back surgery, out of work, and honestly β just trying to figure out what came next. I started messing around with Amazon returns as a way to spend time with my kids during that recovery period. Just something to do, you know?
Then something unexpected happened.
One of those pallets had an arcade cabinet in it.
And just like that, I was transported back to my childhood. Back to those days when my grandparents would take me to the arcade every time I visited. My grandfather was a Missionary Baptist preacher, and he'd spend the whole year buying discounted tokens just so we'd have a stash waiting when I came to visit. Those memories? Priceless.
I fell back in love with arcade gaming β hard.
From Hobby to Mission π―
I started buying more cabinets. Restoring them. Customizing them. And I realized I needed help β especially on days when my back wasn't cooperating.
So I reached out to fellow veterans in the area. Asked them to come over and lend a hand. And something beautiful started happening. We started building. Growing. Developing a little community around what we were doing.
But the real magic? That came when we started delivering these machines.
Let me tell you β there's nothing quite like watching a mom's face as you unload an arcade cabinet, and then seeing her kid come running down the street, absolutely HYPED to play. That feeling? That's pure joy. And I didn't truly understand what that word meant until I experienced it.
Keeping It Real π―
Here's the thing: I'm not perfect. I've failed at one or two businesses before. There are probably some people out there who are frustrated with me β and for that, I sincerely apologize.
But I'm not the kind of guy who stays down.
I believe in dusting yourself off and trying again. Even when it's intimidating. Even when it's embarrassing. Even when you don't have all the answers.
For 10 years, I spent my time educating and helping veterans start businesses β navigating the rules, the regulations, all of it. And I always told them the same thing:
"Just go start. You don't have to have every answer. You don't have to know how to solve every problem."
Now it's time for me to take my own advice.
Building Different This Time π¨
We're doing things differently with Devil Dawg Tech.
No outside funding. We're bootstrapping this thing from the ground up.
Total transparency. We're going to show you the good days AND the hard days. The wins AND the setbacks. Because I believe we're living in a time where too many people make success look easy β and that's just not the reality.
Building a business is:
- Hard work
- Emotional
- Taxing on your family and friends
And you deserve to see that. You deserve to see how we overcome it.
Our Commitment to the Veteran Community πΊπΈ
I'm asking veterans who have sat through my classes, who follow our journey, to hold this team accountable.
Help us build a successful business in St. Louis that represents the veteran community well. One that we can all be proud of.
I'm also inviting veterans to join me β to share their stories, show how they use the tools we've learned, and prove that the Marine Corps brand still means something in the business world.
When we set out to do something, we accomplish it. Period.
We may stay small. We may grow into something big. But no matter what, this is a business I'm going to be proud of.
What's Next? π
In the coming days, we're going to:
- Livestream our progress as we build out our warehouse
- Share behind-the-scenes content β the real stuff, not just the highlight reel
- Answer YOUR questions β post them on our videos, drop them on our Facebook page
- Stay honest and transparent every step of the way
Because our kids are on social media learning from people who haven't done the work to deserve the attention they're getting. I want to give them somewhere real to go. Somewhere they can learn that everything worth doing takes a lot of hard work.
Join Our Journey π€
This isn't just about arcade cabinets. It's about community. It's about accountability. It's about showing what's possible when you refuse to give up.
We'd be honored to have you along for the ride.
Got questions? Post them. Got feedback? We want to hear it. Let's build this together.
